SE SD HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT REGIONAL GROUP
The Southeastern SD Health Information Management Regional Group continues to meet quarterly at Queen of Peace Hospital, Mitchell, SD.
The group was originally formed to allow health information/medical record staff from area hospitals and healthcare facilities to have a network of associates to discuss issues and it continues to be just that. The facilities included have grown so Mitchell is the location most centrally located. The dues are $10.00 per facility/year. The funds have been used for purchase of tapes, videos, etc. for programs allowing for CEUs and also to provide door prizes at the Spring SDHIMA meeting.
The group agreed to be another sounding board for the AHIMA Coding Society coding questions and the submits answers to the questions as a group in addition to each individual facility coders submitting their own answers.
A presentation is planned for each meeting and several could be counted as CEUs if necessary. The November meeting program usually covers the national AHIMA convention.
